App Controller	Provides the self-service interface that allows you to configure, deploy, and manage virtual machines and services across both your public and private clouds.
Configuration Manager	Collects hardware and software inventories for your machines (both physical and virtual). Allows you to deploy operating systems, software applications, and software updates to the computers, and allows remote administration.
Data Protection Manager	Advanced data protection, backup and restore for all of your Windows servers, desktops, and laptops.
Endpoint Protection	Antimalware and Antivirus software which contains advanced features when used with Configuration Manager.
Operations Manager	Flexible infrastructure monitoring that helps maintain the software and hardware available in your computers, datacenters, and both your public and private clouds.
Orchestrator	Allows you to automate the creation, monitoring, and deployment in your clouds, datacenters, and computers in your environment.

Migrating from ISA Server 2006 to Forefront TMG 2010

Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) là phiên bản nâng cấp kế tiếp của Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server được Microsoft ra mắt vào cuối năm 2009. Về cơ bản TMG Server thừa hưởng nhiều tính năng giống ISA Server nhưng mạnh mẽ hơn, hoàn thiện hơn và bổ sung nhiều tính năng mới. Bài viết này sẽ hướng dẫn bạn chuyển đổi từ ISA 2006 sang TMG 2010.

Trước khi tiến hành chuyển đổi ISA lên TMG, các bạn cần hiểu rõ các vấn đề sau :

- ISA chỉ hoạt động trên nền tảng Windows 2003 về trước, TMG chỉ hoạt động dưới nền tảng Windows 2008 về sau.

- Không thể Upgrade trực tiếp từ ISA Server lên TMG Server.

- TMG không hỗ trợ chuyển đổi phiên bản ISA Enterprise

- TMG không hỗ trợ chuyển đổi phiên bản ISA Server 2000/2004, để chuyển đổi lên TMG thì trước tiên bạn phải nâng cấp ISA Server 2000/2004 lên ISA 2006.

- ISA Server 2006 phải là một member domain. TMG không hỗ trợ chuyển đổi từ một ISA ở chế độ workgroup (stand alone pc).

- Chức năng Web Proxy Client trên ISA Server (Local Host Network) sẽ không được di chuyển sang TMG Server

- Những cấu hình Report cũng sẽ không được di chuyển.

- Những Features trên ISA Server 2006 sẽ không hoạt động trên Forefront TMG, tuy nhiên ta có thể cấu hình lại vì TMG có hỗ trợ.

- Kiểm tra tính tương thích các phần mềm của hãng thứ 3 trên ISA Server 2006 có hoạt động trên TMG Server không.

1/ Backup config trên ISA Server 2006

- Truy cập vào cửa sổ quản lý của ISA Server, trên ISA Server click chuột phải chọn Export (Back Up)

- Cửa sổ Export Wizard chọn Next.

- Trong khung Export Preferences :

+ Đánh dấu check vào Export confidential infomation và nhập mật khẩu bảo vệ file backup

+ Đánh dấu check vào Export user permission settings

- Chọn đường dẫn lưu file backup

- Kiểm tra và hoàn tất tiến trình backup.

- Tiến trình backup tiến hành.

2/ Chép file backup ra USB hoặc một phân vùng khác, Formart phân vùng chứa hệ điều hành Windows Server 2003 và tiến hành cài đặt Windows Server 2008 x64 (khuyến khích sử dụng Windows Server 2008 R2). Sau khi cài đặt xong Windows và đặt 02 IP card mạng giống như cũ thì ta tiếp tục cài đặt Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010. (Xem bài viết cài đặt TMG tại đây)

3/ Restore config trên Forefront TMG

- Truy cập cửa sổ quản lý Forefront TMG, trên Forefront TMG click phải chọn Import (Restore)

- Cửa sổ Import Wizzard chọn Next.

- Chọn file backup của ISA Server 2006, chọn Next

- Forefront TMG cảnh báo là file backup config ta đang sử dụng của một phiên bản cũ. Click OK

- Nhập password bảo vệ của file backup.

- Kiểm tra và hoàn tất tiến trình restore. Chọn Finish

- Tiến trình Restore bắt đầu.

- Sau khi Restore thành công, Forefront TMG có những cảnh báo mà ta đã biết từ phần giới thiệu ở trên.

- Nhấn kiểm tra các Rules và các thiết lập đã được restore, chọn Apply để thực thi.

Upgrading TMG Server 2010 Standard Edition To Enterprise Edition

Bạn đã từng sử dụng ISA Server 2004/2006, việc nâng cấp từ phiển bản Standard lên phiên bản Enterprise gặp rất nhiều khó khăn. Trước tiên bạn phải backup rules và remove phiên bản ISA Standard hiện tại, sau đó cài phiên bản ISA Enterprise và restore các rules. Với TMG Server 2010 thì việc này hết sức dễ dàng, bạn chỉ cần nhập product key của phiên bản TMG Server 2010 Enterprise vào giao diện quản lý của TMG hiện là quá trình upgrade thành công.

1/ Mở TMG Server 2010 management console, click vào System bên trái.

2/ Trong mục System, nhìn mục Task bên phải, click vào Upgrade to Enterprise Edition

3/ Chọn sang tab Product ID, chọn Upgrade To Enterprise Edition ..

Nhập vào product key phiên bản TMG Server 2010 Enterprise Edition, chọn OK

Trở lại tab Product ID, bạn sẽ thấy phiên bản hiện tại là Enterprise

4/ Nhấp Apply để quá trình upgrade hoàn tất, lúc này phiên bản TMG Server 2010 của bạn đã nâng cấp từ Standard lên Enterprise.

Sử dụng phần mềm cũ trong Windows 7 bằng Program Compatibility Mode

Như chúng ta đã biết, hầu hết các chương trình phần mềm đều được thiết kế dành riêng cho 1 hệ điều hành nhất định. Các bạn có thể tưởng tượng đơn giản như sau, phần mềm mua vào năm 2002 dành cho Windows XP sẽ có thể không hoạt động trên máy Laptop của năm 2011 sử dụng hệ điều hành Windows 7.

Nhưng giờ đây, người dùng sẽ không phải lo lắng về vấn đề này vì với sự hỗ trợ của chế độ Program Compatibility Mode được tích hợp sẵn trong Windows 7.

Trong bài thử nghiệm dưới đây, chúng tôi sẽ thực hiện các bước làm trong Windows Vista (với Windows 7 cũng tương tự như vậy). Nếu 1 phần mềm nào đó không thể hoạt động, các bạn hãy nhấn chuột phải và chọn Troubleshoot Compatibility như hình dưới đây:

Thi ết lập mật khẩu bảo vệ thư mục trong Windows 7

Thủ thuật ướng dẫn bạn tạo một thư mục ẩn và được bảo vệ bằng mật khẩu, tuy nhiên phương pháp này không đảm bảo độ an toàn đến 100%. Nó chỉ ngăn chặn được những người dùng máy tính với trình độ trung bình còn những người dùng nâng cao hoàn toàn có thể truy cập vào nội dung bên trong thư mục được khóa chặn này.

Đầu tiên bạn cần Tạo một thư mục mới và đặt tên cho nó.

Mở thư mục, kích phải vào vùng trắng trong nó, sau đó chọn New -> Text Document từ menu xuất hiện.

Mở file văn bản mà bạn đã tạo bằng cách kích đúp vào nó, sau đó thực hiện nhập vào đoạn mã dưới đây:

Trong đoạn mã ở trên, thay thế khóa PASSWORD_GOES_HERE bằng mật khẩu mà bạn muốn sử dụng để mở khóa thư mục. Cho ví dụ, nếu bạn muốn đặt mật khẩu là 123456, dòng đó sẽ có nội dung như sau:

Lưu file mới của bạn này dưới định dạng .bat và tên file là locker.bat. Để thực hiện điều đó, cần phải thay đổi kiểu lưu trong Save as type: thành All Files (*.*).

Trong thư mục mà bạn đã tạo trong bước 1, kích đúp vào file locker.bat, lúc này bạn sẽ thấy có một thư mục mang tên Private, nơi bạn có thể đặt mọi thứ mình muốn.
Sau khi thoát, kích đúp vào file locker.bat lần nữa. Khi đó bạn sẽ gặp nhắc nhở hỏi bạn có muốn khóa thư mục của mình hay không. Nhấn Y và thư mục riêng sẽ biến mất.

Để lấy lại thư mục Private, tất cả những gì bạn cần thực hiện là kích đúp vào file locker.bat và nhập vào mật khẩu mà bạn thiết lập trong bước 4, lúc này thư mục sẽ xuất hiện lại để bạn có thể truy cập.

Memory is a critical resource to Microsoft SQL Server workloads, especially in a virtualized environment where resources are shared and contention for shared resources can lead to negative impact on the workload. Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 introduced Hyper-V Dynamic Memory, which enables virtual machines to make more efficient use of physical memory resources. Hyper-V Dynamic Memory treats memory as a shared resource that can be reallocated automatically among running virtual machines. There are unique considerations that apply to virtual machines that run SQL Server workloads in such environments. Linux Integration Services 3.1 for Hyper-V

Microsoft has released version 3.1 of the Linux Integration Components (or Services) for Hyper-V.

The supported operating systems for 3.1 are:

“Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.0 and 6.1 x86 and x64 (Up to 4 vCPU)
CentOS 6.0 x86 and x64 (Up to 4 vCPU)”

SLES 10 SP3 and 11, and RHEL 5.2 / 5.3 / 5.4 / 5.5 still have support using Integration Services 2.1 for Hyper-V.

Supported Host OS’s include:

“Windows Server 2008 Standard, Windows Server 2008 Enterprise, and Windows
Server 2008 Datacenter (64-bit versions only)
Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008
Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, and Windows
Server 2008 R2 Datacenter
Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2”

Service Packs 1 or 2 of those host OSs are supported too.

The features of V3.1 of the Linux Integration Services are:

“Driver support: Linux Integration Services supports the network controller and the IDE and
SCSI storage controllers that were developed specifically for Hyper-V.
Fastpath Boot Support for Hyper-V: Boot devices now take advantage of the block
Virtualization Service Client (VSC) to provide enhanced performance.
Timesync: The clock inside the virtual machine will remain synchronized with the clock on
the virtualization server with the help of the pluggable time source device.
Integrated Shutdown: Virtual machines running Linux can be shut down from either Hyper-V
Manager or System Center Virtual Machine Manager by using the “Shut Down” command.
Symmetric Multi-Processing (SMP) Support: Supported Linux distributions can use up to 4 virtual processors (VP) per virtual machine. SMP support is not available for 32-bit Linux guest operating systems running on Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V or Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008.
Heartbeat: Allows the virtualization server to detect whether the virtual machine is running
and responsive.
KVP (Key Value Pair) Exchange: Information about the running Linux virtual machine can
be obtained by using the Key Value Pair exchange functionality on the Windows Server 2008
virtualization server”.

RemoteFX trên Hyper-V R2 SP1

Giới thiệu RemoteFX

RemoteFX xuất hiện trên Hyper-V R2 SP2, cho phép ảo hóa Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) ở phía máy chủ, cung cấp trình diễn đa phương tiện và trải nghiệm 3D cho giải pháp VDI.

Hiện nay có rất nhiều công ty phần cứng và phần mềm đã cam kết làm đối tác của Microsoft trong việc hỗ trợ phát triển công nghệ RemoteFX - ảo hóa GPU, giúp nâng cao trải nghiệm người dùng như: AMD, AppliedMicro, Citrix, Cloudium Systems, Dell, DevonIT, HP, LG, Nvidia, Quest, Riverbed, Texas Instruments, ThinLinx, Via, Wondermedia, Wyse...

Các phiên bản hệ điều hành hỗ trợ RemoteFX

Hỗ trợ các phiên bản Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 bao gồm:

Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter SP1
Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 đã được cập nhật Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

Các phiên bản Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 không hỗ trợ RemoteFX:

Phiên bản hệ điều hành dành cho máy ảo hoạt động trên Hyper-V sử dụng RemoteFX:

Windows 7 Enterprise SP1

Đối với các máy truy cập từ xa thì hệ điều hành yêu cầu là Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 hay Windows 7 SP1.

Lưu ý: Phiên bản Remote Desktop Connection dùng trong Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 phải là 7.1.

Một số yêu cầu phần cứng khác khi triển khai máy chủ RemoteFX

Vi xủ lý hỗ trợ Second-Level Address Translation (SLAT) – giúp nâng cao hiệu năng hoạt động. Đối với vi xử lý Intel là Extended Page Tables (EPT), còn AMD chúng ta có Nested Page Tables (NPT).

GPU – yêu cầu bắt buộc cho máy chủ RemoteFX. Trong đó driver GPU phải hỗ trợ DirectX 9.0c và DirectX 10.0. Các GPU phải đảm bảo cung cấp đủ bộ nhớ cho các máy ảo khi được bật lên cùng 1 lúc, số lượng màn hình và độ phân giải sử dụng cũng ảnh hưởng đến dung lượng bộ nhớ GPU.

Phiên bản Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 được chạy thử nghiệm thành công cho 12 máy ảo mỗi GPU, và tổng cộng 24 máy ảo cho 2 GPU vật lý.

Lưu ý, nếu ban đang sử dụng dịch vụ RemoteFX trên máy chủ RD Session Host, thì vi xử lý của của máy chủ RD Session Host phải được hỗ trợ thêm Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 (SSE2).

Bộ mã hóa RemoteFX - đây là tùy chọn mở rộng cho máy chủ RemoteFX.

Tính năng RemoteFX

Microsoft RemoteFX hỗ trợ trên tất các thiết bị người dùng từ máy tính thông thường cho đến các thiết bị thin client hay ultrathin client. RemoteFX tích hợp với giao thức RDP, được dùng cho việc mã hóa, chứng thực, quan lý và hỗ trợ các thiết bị.

Khi sử dụng RemoteFX, người dụng sẽ được trải nghiệm các hiệu ứng với nội dung (Silverlight hay Adobe Flash) một cách chính xác nhất từ máy ảo hoạt động trên Hyper-V. Bên cạnh đó, RemoteFX cũng hỗ trợ thêm việc tương tác với các thiết bị ngoại vi khác vào máy tính người dùng như USB, camera hoặc các thiết bị PDA.

Các tính năng hỗ trợ người dùng với RemoteFX:

Nâng cao hiệu năng trình diễn – Nhờ vào việc tận dụng trình diễn đồ họa trực tiếp trên thiết bị lưu trữ (host device) thay vì thiết bị máy tính của người dùng, RemoteFX sau đó sẽ nén các hình ảnh sau khi đã xử lý đến máy tính người dùng, dưới dạng hình ảnh bitmap, và tái hiện tương ứng đến máy tính kết nối từ xa. Điều này giúp cho người dùng từ xa trải nghiệm các hiệu ứng trên màn hình như đang thực thi trên máy tính của họ, nhưng thực tế là nhờ vào xử lý của CPU và GPU trên máy chủ.

Ảo hóa GPU –giúp mô hình các thiết bị đồ họa ảo trên một máy ảo, với trình điều khiển driver WDDM, RemoteFX cho phép nhiều kết nối từ xa chia sẻ việc xử lý đồ họa trên cùng 1 GPU của máy chủ Hyper-V.

Truyền tải dữ liệu thông minh – RemoteFX sẽ kiểm tra việc thay đổi nội dung giữa các khung hình (frame), sau đó mã hóa, nén và truyền tải các bit dữ liệu đến người dùng. Tùy vào chất lượng dịch vụ mạng, RemoteFx sẽ tự động điều chỉnh băng thông truyền tải thích hợp, ví dụ gởi ít khung hình hơn trên đường truyền, để tránh tắc nghẽn mạng, đảm bảo khả năng trình diễn đồ họa trên máy người dùng được tốt nhất.

Bộ mã hóa(encoder) – Bộ mã hóa trong RemoteFX cho phép mã hóa trên vi xử lý, GPU hoặc trên các phần cứng chuyên dụng. Sau khi dữ liệu được nén, nó sẽ được gởi tới màn hình máy ảo dưới dạng bitmap thông qua Remote Desktop Connection (RDC).

Bộ giải mã (decoder) – Bộ giải mã trong RemoteFX đóng vai trò giải mã các bitmap đã truyền từ màn hình máy ảo đến máy tính người dùng bằng cách sử dụng các phần mềm trong GPU hay vi xử lý, hoăc một bộ giải mã phần cứng.

RemoteFX với Remote Desktop Session Host - RemoteFX cho phép truy xuất vào các máy chủ RD Session Host từ các thiết bị máy tính đa phượng tiện, thin client, hay ultrathin client, đảm bảo việc truyền tải các ứng dụng đồ họa phong phú với một băng thông thấp trên nền tảng Windows Server 2008 R2.

Điều hướng kết nối USB - RemoteFX cho phép các thiết bị kết nối vào máy chủ RD Virtualization Host thông qua cổng USB. Điều này giúp cho các máy tính người dùng không cần trình điều khiển thiết bị (driver) trên máy tính của mình vẫn có thể làm việc với thiết bị của họ một cách dễ dàng từ các thiết bị âm thanh, lưu trữ, máy in, máy scan…
